Advanced Metals Machining is a precision metal component manufacturer serving aerospace, defense, satellite, optical, and commercial industries looking to add a dedicated and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to our growing team.
Job Purpose
The primary responsibilities of this position are to set up, manage, and operate a computer numerical control (CNC) machine to produce precision parts and components according to specifications.
Responsibilities
Set up and adjust machines, including calibrating it to the correct operating levels.
Run CNC machines to cut, mill, drill, and bend materials to manufacture parts, ensuring that operations stay within tolerance and quality specifications.
Put raw materials into the machine and remove the finished parts.
Perform regular maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication.
Ensure the machine is running properly and efficiently and reporting any issues.
Inspect finished parts to make sure they meet specifications using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
Resolve basic problems that may arise during operation such as tool wear, misalignment, and software errors.
Prepare the machine for a new job set-up.
Keep accurate records of production data, including quantities produced and any defects.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to optimize processes and improve production efficiency.
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Expertise in operating CNC mills, lathes, grinders, or routers.
Ability to set up, run, and monitor CNC machines according to specifications.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Familiarity with different types of tools used in CNC machining (e.g., end mills, drills, taps.)
The ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet specifications.
High level of accuracy to ensure parts are manufactured according to precise specifications.
The ability to detect defects or inconsistencies in materials or finished parts.
The ability to manage time effectively, ensuring machines are running efficiently and meeting production deadlines.
The ability to monitor multiple machines simultaneously, if required.
Physical Requirements
While performing the responsibilities of the CNC Machine Operator job, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is often required to sit and stand for extended time periods. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Second shift: 4:00PM - 2:30AM
Monday - Thursday
15% pay differential
(Training will be completed on first shift 6:00AM - 4:30PM)
