Your Impact
A Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and products using various welding techniques and equipment. This role involves setting up parts for welding, utilizing hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures to ensure precision and quality. The Welder interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to execute work accurately. Key tasks include welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing metal surfaces to meet specifications and safety standards.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Plan details of work order procedures; gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
Notify Team Leader when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Perform other related duties as assigned including machine operation.
Perform quality control and process all required documentation.
Perform prep work and grinding.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
6 months+ of hands‑on experience in welding and fabrication applications: cutting, welding/brazing, drilling, marking/engraving, welding of dissimilar metals a plus.
Proficient in welding safety, weld filler selection, welding processing parameters, fixturing.
Familiarity and experience with metallurgy, weld joint analysis, backing gas applications.
Strong cognitive and clear communication skills emphasizing attention to detail.
Self‑motivated, able to lead projects to completion with minimal oversight, demonstrating significant problem‑solving ability.
Can work independently and unsupervised while prioritizing tasks.

Employees must be able to talk and hear and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and very loud noise levels requiring hearing protection.
