The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in the assigned work area, following established policies and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect patients’ rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility in a timely manner.
Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas.
Sweep and mop patients’ rooms.
Maintain adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on the cleaning cart and in the janitor’s closet.
Consistently perform daily floor care procedures.
Ensure equipment is kept clean and polished – carts, tanks, and buckets are emptied and rinsed at shift end.
Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers.
Exceptional focus on teamwork.
Ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous environmental service or housekeeping experience.
High school diploma or high‑school equivalency diploma (GED).
Compensation
The starting rate of pay is $17.25 hourly. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary based on labor market data, experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions, and shift differentials may apply for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
