Job Description
Giordano, Glaws, Fenstermacher & Nash, LLP is a full-service defense litigation firm that represents major corporations, business enterprises, institutions and insureds throughout New York State. We are currently seeking a calendar clerk for our office.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Calendar Clerk to oversee all calendaring, docketing, and deadline management for the firm. This position is essential to ensuring compliance with court orders, statutory deadlines, and litigation schedules across a high-volume insurance defense practice.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage the firm’s master litigation calendar for all attorneys and matters.
Docket and calendar all court appearances, motion practice deadlines, discovery schedules, compliance conferences, depositions, mediations, trials, and Notes of Issue deadlines.
Track deadlines pursuant to court rules, statutes, CPLR, Uniform Rules, and court-issued compliance conference and scheduling orders.
Review NYSCEF filings, eCourts notices, and court orders to identify and calendar all applicable deadlines.
Monitor dispositive-motion deadlines, discovery cutoff dates, and court-ordered timelines.
Send advance reminders and deadline alerts to attorneys and litigation staff.
Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure calendar accuracy and compliance.
Update and revise calendar entries as matters progress or court orders are amended.
Assist with related litigation-support and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Prior experience as a calendar clerk, docket clerk, or litigation support professional in an insurance defense or litigation firm is preferred.
Strong knowledge of New York State court rules, CPLR deadlines, and motion practice timelines.
Familiarity with NYSCEF, eCourts, and Microsoft Outlook calendaring systems.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage high-volume caseloads and competing deadlines.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with litigation teams.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
