Inventory Controller
The Inventory Controller is responsible for overseeing and governing inventory control processes across all company locations to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance for high-dollar inventory. This role exercises independent judgment over inventory controls, approvals, and exception handling and is accountable for inventory governance, audit readiness, and operational risk mitigation. The Inventory Controller may perform hands‑on inventory verification activities as part of oversight and control responsibilities.
Essential Functions
Establish, enforce, and govern inventory control policies, procedures, and standards across all locations
Exercise authority over inventory adjustments, write‑offs, and exception approvals within defined financial thresholds
Oversee inventory accuracy, reconciliation processes, and audit readiness
Direct and oversee cycle count programs across all locations, including methodology, frequency, and variance thresholds
Perform hands‑on cycle counts, bin labeling, and inventory organization as needed to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Investigate significant inventory variances, losses, or control failures and determine corrective actions
Ensure physical inventory organization and labeling standards are consistently applied across locations
Evaluate operational and financial risk related to inventory handling, storage, and movement
Approve onboarding of new inventory items and inventory‑related system or process changes
Travel to company locations as needed to ensure compliance with inventory control standards
Experience / Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field (Preferred)
Five or more years of inventory control, operations, or supply chain experience
Demonstrated experience overseeing inventory accuracy, cycle count programs, and inventory controls across multiple locations or complex environments
Experience investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, variances, or control issues with financial or operational impact
Working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management tools in an operational setting
