Audiology Technician / Audiology Assistant
The Audiology Technician supports audiologists and ENT providers by performing diagnostic hearing tests, preparing patients for evaluations, maintaining audiology equipment, and assisting with patient care and education. This role ensures efficient clinic workflow and high-quality patient service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine audiologic tests, including
Tympanometry
Otoacoustic emissions (OAE)
Hearing screenings
Prepare patients for audiologic evaluations and procedures
Accurately document test results in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Assist audiologists and physicians during advanced diagnostic testing
Clean, calibrate, and maintain audiology equipment
Educate patients on basic hearing care and hearing aid use (under supervision)
Assist with hearing aid tasks, including
Cleaning and maintenance
Battery replacement
Troubleshooting basic issues
Manage patient flow and ensure timely appointments
Maintain inventory of audiology supplies and order as needed
Ensure compliance with clinic policies, OSHA, and infection control standards
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree in a related field preferred
