Job Summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for tracking inbound and outbound freight.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Monitors and records all inbound and outbound freight weights and properly updates status tickets.
Completes all paperwork for drivers, including sales, raw material and all blending stock.
Enters Bills of Lading and raw material tickets into the computer system.
Maintains housekeeping for a safe and neat work area.
Receives training and is responsible for maintaining Darling's Food Safety program.
Maintains safety as the top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma.
1 year prior experience in an office and/or transportation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
Good computer skills. Oracle experience a plus.
Detail oriented, highly organized.
Good communication skills; able to follow oral and written directions.
Multi‑tasking ability; self‑starter.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work nights and overtime as needed.
Working Conditions
This role may involve exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise levels, strong odors, extreme temperatures, biohazard conditions, chemicals, and electrical hazards. Work requires standing, walking, using hands to operate computers and office machinery, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Regular communication and teamwork are essential.
