SCHEELS can turn your passion for sports, fitness, fashion or the outdoors into a rewarding career through extensive training. As a cashier you will provide excellent customer service, support firearm sales, and help maintain a clean and efficient store environment.

Responsibilities

Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions through registers, itemizing and totaling purchases.

Collect payments from customers in cash, check or credit and provide correct change and receipts.

Record daily transactions from cash register to balance drawer, counting money at shift start and end.

Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas.

Assist in entering and processing NICS firearm background checks.

Assist with gun room housekeeping and move multiple gun boxes up and down stairs.

Walk multiple customers across the catwalk to the escalators.

Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Demonstrate multitasking, organization, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Use Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher, Excel, and Google Docs.

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and explain all benefits clearly.

Use excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Complete basic mathematical equations.

Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Assist with all other duties as assigned.

Ensure all paperwork for firearm sales—including form 4473, licensing, and background checks—is completed accurately and thoroughly.

Education & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, and/or 1‑3 months of cashiering experience.

Physical Requirements
Must sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavy work includes exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
