Talascend is currently seeking a Human Resources Operations Specialist for an opportunity in Schenectady, New York.
Overview
This role involves supporting onboarding enablement, learning operations, and program coordination to ensure new engineers reach productivity faster. The position requires managing onboarding processes, coordinating learning events, and facilitating professional onboarding to promote early-career development and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Own and coordinate onboarding readiness for new hires in Schenectady and virtually support other sites
Provide end-to-end coordination for all learning events, seminars, and technical training sessions
Deliver standardized onboarding training sessions focused on professional excellence
Facilitate structured onboarding sessions introducing core values and business etiquette
Educate new engineers on mentorship opportunities and internal networking importance
Provide guidance and resources to help new team members become productive faster
Ensure strong Day 1 readiness, including systems access, communications, and onboarding support
Support the planning and coordination of foundational technical learning experiences such as A‑Course and B‑Course events
Coordinate operational and logistical execution for learning programs and early-career development events
Standardize onboarding modules, training materials, and operational processes to improve efficiency
Reduce administrative burden on leaders, instructors, and program owners through process standardization
Track and measure improvements in onboarding efficiency, training execution, and learner satisfaction
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, human resources, psychology, business administration, management, learning or instructional design, operations, or project management
Proven experience supporting onboarding, training operations, or learning programs
Strong organizational and program coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, schedules, and operational details
Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
Experience working across HR, engineering, instructors, and early-career program stakeholders
Ability to create structure, standardize processes, and drive follow‑through
Proficiency with common business and collaboration tools such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and shared file systems
