We're looking for a dependable, safety-focused
Yard Associate
to join our building materials team. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and helping customers and contractors get what they need, this could be a great fit for you.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same - you'll assist customers, pull and load orders, operate equipment, and help keep our yard running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do
Provide exceptional customer service to contractors, homeowners, and internal team members
Accurately pull orders by type, style, and quantity
Load and unload trucks and rail cars using a forklift
Inspect materials for accuracy and damage
Assist drivers in safely securing and flagging loads
Restock inventory and organize materials in proper locations
Complete required paperwork (orders filled, receiving documents, forklift inspections)
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard
Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
What We're Looking For
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience (Preferred):
6+ months forklift experience
6+ months experience in building materials, construction, retail, or related industry
Skills & Abilities:
Strong customer service and communication skills
Basic math skills and ability to complete forms accurately
Ability to safely lift and handle heavy materials
Basic computer skills (MS Office and general computer use)
Class D driver's license with clean MVR (preferred)
Physical & Work Environment
This is an active, outdoor position. Candidates must be able to:
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to
75 lbs
Team lift items over 75 lbs
Stand and walk for extended periods
Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach overhead
Work in all weather conditions
Operate forklifts and yard equipment
Work around dust, noise, uneven ground, and varying temperatures
