Overview:
We are seeking a reliable Yard Associate to support daily yard operations by assisting customers, pulling orders, and safely loading and unloading materials. This role plays a key part in providing excellent service while maintaining an organized and safe yard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist customers with orders and returns while providing exceptional customer service
Pull and stage orders accurately by item type, style, and quantity
Operate forklift to load/unload trucks and rail cars; verify counts and inspect for damage
Assist drivers with loading and unloading materials, ensuring loads are safely secured for delivery
Restock inventory and return materials to proper locations
Complete required paperwork (orders filled, materials received, forklift inspections)
Maintain a clean, organized yard and follow all safety procedures
Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
6+ months forklift experience preferred
6+ months experience with building materials (construction, retail, or sales) preferred
Basic math, communication, and computer skills (MS Office/basic systems)
Knowledge of safe lifting techniques
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to
75 lbs
Ability to work with others to lift items
over
75 lbs
Frequent walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
