direct-hire Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

jobs in Hampton, VA for our client, a growing manufacturer of quality Aerospace and Industrial components. The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial production equipment and facility infrastructure in a high-precision aerospace/industrial manufacturing environment.

Candidates must have three (3) or more years of experience in Industrial Maintenance with hands‑on experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance. Trade school education is preferred.

Our client offers a starting pay rate of $41.70 per hour plus a $1.00 shift premium and an excellent benefits package that starts on day one!

Available Shifts

1st shift: Mon‑Fri, 7:00am‑3:00pm

2nd shift: Mon‑Fri, 3:00pm‑11:00pm

3rd shift: Mon‑Fri, 11:00pm‑7:00am

Training on 1st shift (Mon‑Fri, 7:00am‑3:00pm)

Responsibilities for the Multicraft Maintenance Technician Job in Hampton, VA include:

Perform preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production machinery using diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications.

Troubleshoot electrical systems, including 480V AC power and 120V AC controls; use electrical meters to measure voltage, current, resistance, and capacitance.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues; replace faulty components (relays, switches, motors, sensors, bearings, printed circuit boards).

Plan and install conduit, field wiring, and electrical apparatus; connect power supply wires and inter‑machine cabling.

Read and interpret basic blueprints; complete installation of pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment; repair/replace gauges, valves, and regulators.

Dismantle, reassemble, and install new or repaired machine parts; rig equipment for installation/relocation as directed.

Operate industrial forklift; work at heights up to 50 feet; use hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools safely.

Fabricate/repair parts using machine shop tools.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Trade school, mechanical/electrical/multi‑craft apprenticeship preferred.

Minimum 3+ years of industrial electro‑mechanical maintenance experience.

Hands‑on experience required in several of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, water systems, PLC exposure, and analytical troubleshooting. Familiarity with robotic machinery is a plus.

Availability for all shifts (including 2nd, 3rd, and weekend) and ability to work overtime/weekends as needed.

Mobile equipment training/certification (or ability to obtain).

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and communicate effectively in group settings.

Must be familiar with and provide personal hand tools as required.
