
Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Associate

Position Summary
These positions are responsible for moving, stacking, and loading all SWD products into trailers, box trucks, or trucks for shipment. This position requires the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and racking. The role is physically demanding and involves frequent lifting and maneuvering. Quality is paramount: ensuring that products shipped are correct and damage‑free is essential to job success.
Essential Job Functions
Level I – Loader
Pull/Push product carts from the warehouse floor to the dock for loading.
Use hands or equipment to move garage doors, hardware, or related products.
Load “verified” doors, sections, products, and miscellaneous items by hand into a semi‑trailer according to the shipment load list.
Lifts, stacks, and packs overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and/or assemblies.
Secure all loads by shimming the product with foam or placing load bars or poles.
Recognize alphabet and numbers.
Maintain a neat and orderly dock and warehouse area.
Use safe lifting, loading, and operating techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Level II – Spotter
Spot trailers for the day that need to be loaded.
Instruct team members on where and what needs to be staged for loading the trailer for the route.
Once the product has been verified, instruct the members on what and how to load the trailer for the route specified in the load report based on size, quantity, and product.
Use hands or equipment to move garage doors, hardware, or related products.
Lifts, stacks, and packs overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and/or assemblies.
Ensure loads are secure and loaded properly.
Has knowledge of capacity planning of trailer or box truck.
Maintain a neat and orderly dock and warehouse area.
Use safe lifting, loading, and operating techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Level III – Team Lead
Verify product by using load lists and/or scanner.
Follow the route loading order determined by the supervisor.
Once the product has been verified, instruct team members on what and how to load the trailer for the route specified in the load report based on size, quantity, and product.
Use hands or equipment to move garage doors, hardware, or related products.
Lifts, stacks, and packs overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and/or assemblies.
Ensure loads are secure and loaded properly.
Practice correct shipping procedures.
Report issues, quality, or safety to the supervisor.
Basic computer knowledge, ERP software, closing shipments, and creating documents for shipments.
Communicates with the office team, customer service team, procurement team, and managers.
Maintain a neat and orderly dock and warehouse area.
Use safe lifting, loading, and operating techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
