Cloud Solutions Architect

Salary Grade: G04
$110,004- $148,506- $187,007

SUMMARY
The Cloud Solution Architect represents Enterprise Architecture on teams responsible for overseeing PNMR's cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud governance, management, and financial monitoring. The role leads a governance team for application and infrastructure architecture and deployment in PNMR strategic cloud environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent Enterprise Architecture on teams developing strategic cloud guidance, architecture, governance, and planning for cloud delivery models such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.

Generate cloud migration roadmaps and drive buy‑in across the organization.

Craft multi‑cloud strategy across PNMR strategic cloud platforms.

Analyze application and infrastructure portfolios, identifying dependencies and common platform components, and assess migration feasibility.

Perform cost/benefit modeling and create compelling business cases for migration.

Architect hybrid cloud and on‑premise solutions for technology clusters and patterns.

Drive hybrid solution architecture, strengthening capabilities and services in orchestration, automation, and targeted service layers.

Implement cost‑optimized solutions based on usage, business requirements, and budget.

Lead application migration projects, optimizing technical reliability and improving performance.

Adopt cloud integration patterns with on‑premise applications, cloud providers, or other platforms.

Champion cloud lifecycle management and help evolve the business to expand this footprint.

Collaborate with consulting and managed services partners to build and execute migration plans.

Articulate advantages, disadvantages, and differentiation risks across PNMR’s cloud platform options.

Build, migrate, and test cloud environments and integration with other providers.

Pursue innovation and improvement across the cloud service portfolio.

Deep understanding of Cloud Solution Architecture approaches, industry standards, and best practices.

General understanding of Application Architecture, Automation and Orchestration, Governance, Integration Architecture, Outsourcing/External Hosting, Security, Communication and Collaboration, Finance/Legal, Procurement/Vendor Management, Program Leadership, Thought Leadership, and Change Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university with an emphasis in technology and 5–7 years of related experience, including at least two years of experience with M365/Azure Cloud deployments, Cyber/Information Security, Third‑Party Risk and Compliance or equivalent.

Enterprise Architecture and/or Cloud Certification (CSSP, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP or related certifications) is a plus.

Experience in solution design or cyber/information security.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and project management software.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and GRC solutions.

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM‑SOLVING ABILITY
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Troubleshoot highly complex problems and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Solve problems quickly and independently if necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Stand, walk, and/or sit up to 2/3 of the time. Manual dexterity required with ability to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk and listen. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional travel as needed. Office environment. May be on‑call when needed.
