Job Description
Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join the Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 270.
The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 5:00 AM-1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required and may be requested or mandatory on Saturdays. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read blueprints, schematic and wiring drawings.
Comprehend verbal and written instructions.
Install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects and lighting systems.
Inspect electrical components such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels and circuit boards.
Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing equipment.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner.
Use all types of electrician tools needed to perform assigned tasks.
Have work subject to final inspection.
Train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
Work in the Foundry and occasionally on split shifts.
Sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work.
When required, troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours. Basic computer skills required to obtain and complete work orders.
Basic maintenance knowledge required to reach machine manuals.
Education and Experience
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid Journeyman's or Master’s Card for Electrical (Licensed).
