We are currently seeking an

Underground Pipe Layer

to join our

Field Operations team

for construction projects in the

Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

area. This position is responsible for lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints on a project jobsite to safely produce quality work, within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Key Responsibilities:

Dig, grade, and level trenches to required depths using hand tools or mechanical equipment, ensuring proper slope conformance throughout.

Cut, align, position, and connect pipe pieces using welding equipment, cement, or glue, then cover and seal completed pipe runs.

Install and repair sanitary and stormwater sewer structures, utilizing instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels to verify accuracy and compliance.

Ensure that all work meets project specifications, schedule requirements, and quality standards.

Promote and enforce safety practices on-site, in accordance with company requirements and regulatory agencies.

Support scheduling, workflow planning, and material coordination to maintain productivity.

Collaborate with project managers and field leaders to resolve challenges and keep the work moving forward.

Use the appropriate equipment and tools, ensuring their safe and proper operation.

Education & Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.

One to two years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in the underground utility industry highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. Work in the design-build industry is preferred.

CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications, EM-385, and STS required; training can be provided.
