Overview
A
Machine Operator (Slitting Machine)
will have experience operating and maintaining machinery, specifically slitting machines, a strong understanding of production processes, and a commitment to safety and quality. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining slitting machines to ensure efficient and accurate production of products.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate slitting machines according to specifications and instructions.
Monitor slitting machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
Adjust slitting machine settings as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
Inspect slit materials/products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Identify and report any defects or issues with the slitting machinery or products.
Perform daily routine quality checks.
Report any machine malfunctions and issues to the supervisor.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machines.
Ensure that all safety devices and guards are in place and functioning correctly.
Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a workplace safety culture.
Maintain accurate records of production quantities.
Communicate any production issues or concerns to supervisors and management.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety instructions.
Assist in training new machine operators, including slitting machine operation.
Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.
Keep equipment clean and maintained.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of slitting machine operation and maintenance procedures.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Forklift experience is preferred.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy (25lbs +) materials.
