Sexual Assault Victim Advocate PRN (Rathgeber Village Campus)
SAFE Alliance seeks a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate PRN (SAVA) for the Community Services Program in the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy department. The Advocate will commit to a minimum of 40 hours of on‑call per month. You self‑schedule, so there is ample flexibility. PRN Advocates are not onsite while on‑call; you may or may not be dispatched during your shift.
Position Details
The position is non‑exempt, hourly salary of $21.77 plus a $30 on‑call bonus for an 8‑hour shift. Work will be based at our Rathgeber Village Campus in the Mueller area. This position requires reliable transportation and ability to arrive at any medical facility in Travis County within one (1) hour. Attendance is required once a month at an evening team meeting.
Responsibilities
Remain calm while providing crisis stabilization and establish rapport with clients without self‑disclosure of personal history.
Work with medical staff, forensic nurse examiners, law enforcement and victim services to support clients.
Respond to dispatch and arrive at the medical facility within one hour.
Assist with client accompaniment and transportation.
Participate in the 40‑hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program within six months of starting employment and complete annual continuing education.
Adhere to policies regarding COVID‑19, flu vaccination and background checks.
Maintain reliable transportation, valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, or related field, or 2‑4 years of relevant experience.
Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
Knowledge of gender‑based violence, sexual assault and domestic violence.
Proficiency with office applications and data entry.
Physical ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Clear hearing and sight (reasonable accommodation available).
