Music Therapist, Hospice
Location: St. Louis (office). Coverage Area: St. Charles, St. Louis, and Jefferson Counties. Remote/Virtual Position: No. Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with rotation call.
Salary: $50,000 - $68,000 per year. Board Certification required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy or an undergraduate equivalency program approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
Board Certified as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT).
Previous experience with terminally ill patients or families is highly desirable.
Must have reliable automobile, valid driver's license, and minimum state-required liability auto insurance.
Responsibilities
Complete the music therapy assessment with patients and families when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
Plan music therapy interventions.
Guide patients in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical function and quality of life.
Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with patients and/or family of choice.
Provide in‑services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested.
Serve as the counselor at interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, participate in on‑call rotation, and assist with sign‑ups and consents for newly referred patients.
Support the bereavement program at the site level.
Required Certifications and Licensure
Board Certified as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT).
Must be a licensed driver capable of traveling to all business locations.
