Music Therapist, Hospice
Location:
St. Louis (office) – Coverage Area: St. Charles, St. Louis, and Jefferson Counties
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with rotation call
Salary:
$50,000 – $68,000 / year

Board Certification Required:
MT-BC
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy or Music Therapy from an AMTA‑approved university (or equivalent)
Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
Experience working with terminally ill patients/families (highly desirable)
Reliable automobile, valid driver’s license, and state-required liability auto insurance
Responsibilities
Complete the music therapy assessment with patient and family per interdisciplinary plan of care
Plan music therapy interventions
Guide the patient in using creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical function and quality of life
Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with patient and/or family of choice
Provide in‑services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested
Serve as counselor at IDG meetings, participate in on‑call rotation, assist with sign‑ups and consents for newly referred patients
Support the bereavement program at the site level
Required Certifications & Licensures
Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
Licensed driver able to travel to all business locations
