Overview
Certified Surgical Technologist III
We are seeking a
Certified Surgical Technologist II (CSTIII) , sometimes referred to as a Surgical Tech III, or Tech III, or Scrub Tech III. The Certified Surgical Technologist III (CST III) serves as an advanced surgical team member responsible for supporting highly complex surgical procedures, ensuring optimal operating room efficiency, and serving as a clinical resource for surgical staff. The CST III leads advanced case preparation, assists surgeons by maintaining a sterile field and anticipating procedural needs, mentors surgical technologists, and promotes best practices in patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
The position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities
The Certified Surgical Tech III is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining the sterile field during the case, and providing the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. The Certified Surgical Tech III is expected to have greater than 1 year’s experience and proficiency in the following surgical specialties: General Surgery, Urology, Eye (cataracts), GYN, and Hand specialty, as well as basic spine procedures (Laminectomies), sports medicine, orthopedic total joints (including complicated spinal fusion surgery, 360 fusions), complicated orthopedics, total joints and joint revisions (ACL replacement, rotator cuff repairs, revision knee, revision hip, revision shoulder), total ankle replacements, total femur replacements, and heart procedures. The employee will demonstrate independent practice in the role of primary scrub technician and hold a current CST certification to be considered for Certified Surgical Tech III.
Qualifications
Graduate of a Certified Surgical Tech accredited program. (CST) training program with less than one year’s experience in a surgical setting required.
Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification upon hire required and maintained for employment. Non-certified employees hired prior to 12/2014 are exempt from this requirement.
Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
Experience and mastery in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (General, Urology, Eye (cataracts), Gynecology, and Hand Specialty), as well as proficiency and skill in basic spine procedures (Laminectomies), sports medicine, orthopedic total joints, complicated spinal fusion surgery (including 360), and complicated orthopedics (sports medicine and total joints, and joint revisions).
