Position Summary
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of designated healthcare provider.
Responsibilities
Interviews patients, measures vital signs (e.g., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), and records information on patient charts.
Draws and collects blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for laboratory analysis if required.
Prepares treatment rooms for patient examination.
Performs a variety of tasks as assigned.
Reports to supervisor or manager.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance, a key job function.
Competes age‑specific needs of the assigned unit.
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent education/experience required.
Current CMA certification by AAMA, NHA, or NCCT required.
BLS certification required.
Working Conditions
Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs.
Ability to maintain a standing and/or sitting position.
Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend.
Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment.
Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
