Description
The Firefighter Inspector/ Maintenance Engineer assists the Fire Marshal with ensuring that Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation complies with OSHA, NFPA, and Connecticut state supplementary laws and codes for fire protection systems and life safety systems.
Duties
Structural and aircraft rescue firefighting
Hazardous material response
Confined space rescue
Entering IDLH atmospheres
Providing emergency medical treatment
Participating in fire prevention programs
Continuous improvement processes
Completing written inspection reports
Fire extinguisher inspections
Testing and minor maintenance of fire alarms and related equipment
Inspecting, testing, and operating fire department vehicles and rescue boats
Receiving and dispatching alarms
Routine station cleaning assignments
Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Connecticut State Certified Firefighter II, Connecticut State Certified EMT, Class Q or a Class “B” CDL with a “Tanker” endorsement.
Desired Skills
Experience in Fire Department, Firefighting, and Rescue Service from Military, Municipal, Airport, Industrial, or Organized Volunteer Fire Department. Inspector or Fire Marshal experience preferred but not required.
Security Clearance
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret
Work Arrangements
Ability to work remotely: Onsite Full-time at designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Schedule: Standard Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week.
