GhostRx Inc. is seeking full-time Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to provide professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (LSCVAMC) in Cleveland, Ohio. Medical-Surgical RNs are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent patient care on the inpatient medical and surgical units, supporting Veterans before and after a wide range of medical treatments and surgical procedures within a 24/7 acute care environment.
Qualification and Requirements
minimum of 2 years experience, BLS
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments in accordance with VA policies and nursing standards of practice.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical Veteran patients, including wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and surgical drain management.
Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, recognize changes in condition, and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in a timely manner.
Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge planning with physicians, case managers, and ancillary services.
Educate Veterans and their families on diagnoses, surgical procedures, post-operative care, medication regimens, and discharge instructions.
Document all patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Operate and manage specialized medical equipment, including infusion pumps, telemetry, and other monitoring devices.
Delegate tasks appropriately to Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and other assistive personnel.
Respond to clinical emergencies and participate in rapid response and code events.
Float between medical-surgical units based on staffing needs.
Adhere to VA policies, infection control standards, and nursing standards of practice at all times.
