Job Description - Administrative Assistant 2 (26141139)
Position Title:
This position provides a full range of professional support to the Office of Indian Affairs in the Governor’s Office and is responsible for a wide variety of administrative support functions, such as records management, support for meetings, making travel arrangements, and drafting official correspondence and reports according to general directives from the Director of Indian Affairs.
This position serves as the front-line contact for the office taking calls, emails, and walk-in customers and will provide program support regarding tribal issues and activities throughout the state.
This position also assists with the planning and coordination of conferences and special events including the annual Tribal Relations Training conference.
This position requires highly developed organizational skills, and proficiency in the use of office equipment and must be proficient at an advanced level in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with diverse groups of people and be able to mediate sensitive or contentious communications.
Ability to maintain effective working relations with office staff, other state agencies, tribal representatives, and members of the public and build trust and credibility in working relationships.
Ability to determine priorities in a changing environment and adjust workload accordingly.
Ability to handle confidential information requiring discretion and good judgment.
