Position Summary
Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is excited to invite qualified candidates to apply for the role of Recovery Counselor for the Detoxification (Detox) Unit that want to work individuals experiencing Substance Use Disorders (SUD). This position will be providing substance use group counseling, and psychosocial rehabilitation services to teach strategies for living substance free. This position will collaborate with the person served to develop a relapse prevention plan as part of a Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) approach to recovery.

Persons served in this program experience a variety of social, and psychiatric needs, which are addressed through coordination with Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) and other community service agencies. The applicant selected for this position must be comfortable working as a member of a treatment team and able to manage a therapeutic milieu.

Applicants must be outgoing and enjoy working with the public, professional, and para-professional team. Have the ability to collaborate and communicate with BCI departments and external stakeholders. Must be able to multi-task and remain professional at all times to ensure that each client has a positive and helpful therapeutic experience.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related Human Services field i.e., Psychology, Social Work, and Counseling.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Requirement

Experience working in direct behavioral health care services

Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish preferred (not required).

Applicants must be able to pass an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check (Clearinghouse Education and Awareness Website: https://info.flclearinghouse.com), National Sex Offender Registry search, Office of Inspector General (OIG) check (if you have previously worked for DCF (including Contract or Subcontract Provider)), drug screen, and Tuberculosis (TB) test. Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with no more than three (3) points on their driving record to be insured under BCI’s automobile insurancepolicy.

Duties / Responsibilities
Some of the job tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide psychosocial rehabilitation groups.

Provide Substance Use groups.

Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and communicate appropriately with referral sources and community partners.

Conduct transition and discharge planning

Provide individuals with linkages to other supportive social services.

Maintain appropriate and accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Work Location
Fort Walton Beach (FWB)

Shift
Three (3) – twelve and a half (12 1/2) hour shifts (6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) and one (1) – two and a half (2 1/2) hour shift (optional) – rotating weekends & holidays.

Wage
The wage for this position is $22.00 per hour.

Shift Differential
Shift differential allows additional compensation for associates who are scheduled to work certain shifts. The Evening shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) differential is $2.00 per hour in addition to your normal hourly wage.
