Job Summary and Qualifications
the PBX/Telecom Operator answers calls in a courteous manner, extending callers to appropriate extensions whenever possible. Functioning as a hospital information center, responding to inquiries and requests for assistance, utilizing accurate data available combined with sound judgment practices. Attendants’ primary responsibility is to receive and extend telephone calls. Must radio page and overhead page when necessary for life support and/or fire safety requirements. Must notify proper personnel if local disaster is declared. The attendants are often the first contact a guest, potential patient or visitor may have with Memorial Health University Medical Center. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.
Qualifications
Prior switchboard, telecom or operator experience is preferred.
