Overview

Mac Properties is a dynamic and growing private residential real estate company with operations in the metropolitan areas of Chicago, St. Louis and Kansas City. Under the direction of the Director of Leasing or Portfolio Manager, the Leasing Intern will obtain knowledge for maximizing occupancy and growing revenue through lead generation and management, sales, and securing of new leases in a variety of building types from vintage walk-ups to brand new luxury high-rises in Mac's flagship Chicago Market, Hyde Park. The intern will be exposed to all departments that directly contribute to the success of the organization such as Leasing, Resident Services, Accounting, Retention, and Maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of model and vacant units in order to identify areas in need of cleaning, maintenance. Prepares work orders as necessary.

Assist in reviewing marketing of units, take photos as necessary and make recommendations on marketing strategies to Leasing Managers

Tour apartments with clients and leasing agents and follow up after visits

Answer incoming telephone calls and make sure that follow-up telephone calls are made to all qualified unclosed traffic within 24 hours.

Plan, coordinate, and attend leasing, marketing, and resident events while promoting the Mac Brand

Obtain knowledge of different departments within Property Management by participating in focused training with Resident Services and Maintenance.

Weekly check-ins with assigned mentors/managers

Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Minimum Experience/Training/Education

Enrolled or Recent Graduates of a 4-year accredited program required. Eligible candidates must have completed a minimum of two years of coursework.

1 year of customer service or work-related experience preferred

Knowledge of personal computers, Internet applications required. Previous experience using Salesforce or CRM platforms are a plus; but not required.

Excellent listening, verbal/written communication skills

Superior attention to detail, organizational and follow-up abilities

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Patience and the ability to react to stressful situations in a professional manner

Valid Driver’s License Required, Personal Vehicle Preferred

Physical Requirements
Requires use of telephones and computers. Must be able to climb stairs when entering the property management office. Must be able to walk apartments and grounds includes steps. Occasionally requires lifting 20 pounds or less.
