We are actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part‑Time Housekeeper to join our Asbury Towers Retirement Community team!
Salary – $15.00/hr to $16.40/hr (based on skills and years of experience)
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass a background check.
Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Detail‑oriented and thorough.
Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.
Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, customers, clients, and visitors to the property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs cleaning, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks and services throughout assigned property.
Picks up trash and empties trash containers.
Performs light repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
Assists with the cleaning and sanitizing of shared facilities and common spaces.
Washes windows.
Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.
Performs limited grounds maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges and cleaning snow from sidewalks.
Examines property for safety hazards; reports problems to Facilities Manager or other appropriate staff.
Ensures that cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
Modifies scope of cleaning and maintenance based on specified needs of the particular property (apartments, parking facilities, etc.).
Floor care, including wet/dry mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, waxing/buffing, etc.
Performs other related duties as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, use of pulling, bending, and stooping movements.
Ability to adapt to changes in daily work hours and schedule.
Ability to handle stressful situations with residents, families, and staff.
Ability to lift/carry a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Ability to push/pull a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Ability to perform tasks which require arm‑hand steadiness.
Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time through duration of shift(s).
Ability to squat, climb stairs, reach above shoulders, twist, bend, and kneel repeatedly through duration of shift(s).
Ability to hear normal sounds within background noise.
Ability to speak clearly and make self understood.
Ability to keep attention on task if routinely interrupted.
Ability to understand a variety of concepts/approaches.
Ability to remember tasks/assignments for a full shift.
Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled shift (overtime) when necessary.
Day shift, PT position available, weekend rotation (every 3rd weekend)
