Position Overview
Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician II – District 3, Prince George's County, State Highway Administration (SHA). Grade 12 (7125), SP#26-83-12.

Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel‑powered, electronic, and fuel‑injected heavy equipment and vehicles. Assist in major repairs and overhauls of motor vehicles and construction equipment.

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalency.

Three years of experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing motor vehicles, gasoline and/or diesel engines, or heavy‑duty construction equipment; at least one year must involve heavy‑duty construction equipment and diesel engines.

Experience substitutions: documented experience repairing and maintaining automobiles, trucks, buses; accredited training in heavy equipment or diesel repair; U.S. Armed Forces service; ASE Technician or Master Technician certifications.

Additional Requirements

Class C motor vehicle operator’s license valid in Maryland.

Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) during probationary period, depending on equipment operated.

Availability for 24/7 operations during inclement weather or emergencies.
