The City of Aurora Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Community Events Intern to support a variety of community events for the summer (June-August). This is a hands‑on opportunity to gain real‑world experience in event planning, marketing, and public engagement while helping bring large‑scale events to life for the community.
Pay: $16/hour
Schedule: Approximately 10–20 hours per week
Flexible availability is essential , including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
What You’ll Do:

Assist with planning and executing community events (festivals, concerts, July 4th celebration, and more)
Coordinate event logistics including timelines, registration, materials, and setup
Communicate with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and City staff
Serve as on‑site support during events
Assist with post‑event follow‑up, including thank‑you communications and recaps
What We’re Looking For:

Strong organizational and communication skills
Friendly, professional, and comfortable working with the public
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Experience with Microsoft Office and Canva preferred
Interest in event planning, recreation, communications, or a related field
Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
