POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Youth Empowerment Steward (YES) initiative aims to increase access to public lands and create welcoming outdoor experiences for all visitors, strengthening park operations and enhancing the visitor experience.
As a YES member at Homestead National Historic Park, you will work closely with the Park Ranger and Visual Information Specialist to review, organize, and develop alternative text for a large collection of unorganized park photos. This ensures the database is accessible and 508 compliant for screen readers, contributing to improved visitor accessibility. You will also assist with routine visitor service at the front desk.
JOB DUTIES
Review existing photos to determine if they should be deleted or categorized for future use.
Organize photos in a comprehensive manner for upload and storage to the database.
Develop and provide alternative text for each photo.
Support front desk and visitor center services.
