Position Type: Summer Programs / Site Coordinator
Dates of summer school: Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 30, 2026. Site Coordinator will have two prep days: July 2 and July 31, 2026.
Teachers and Site Coordinators will have mandatory “Intervention” training in June 2026 – Date TBD.
Staff work hours
Site Coordinators – 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Certification

Must have a valid WV teaching certificate
Certification in grades K‑12 preferred
Certification in K‑5
Documentation Responsibilities

WVDE Summer School Survey
WVDE data results at the end of summer school
Assessment results – pretest/posttest
Enrollment at each site
Attendance at each site
Each Site Coordinator must ensure that each site completes or has the following:
Summer School Themes
Daily lesson plans from teachers
Focus on Math and ELA enrichment activities
Student and staff attendance taken each day
Students given a pre‑ and post‑test assessment
Essential Job Functions

Plan, implement, and coordinate the day‑to‑day operation of the Summer Enrichment program, incorporating components of accelerated learning, enrichment activities, and STEM programming.
Monitor staff attendance and ensure employee payroll is completed correctly and submitted on time.
Check and verify student attendance each day.
Cover classes when substitute teachers are not available.
Address student discipline issues using WVDE policy 4373.
Communicate with parents/guardians to address student needs and concerns.
Actively engage in the development of project‑based and other activities with a special focus on Math, ELA, and STEM.
Develop an end‑of‑summer assessment to measure academic achievement.
Ensure the facility is cleaned on a daily basis.
Work with the Director of Transportation to ensure all students transported by bus arrive at their evening bus stop location safely and to coordinate bus routes for summer school students.
Ensure all students are supervised by creating staff duty schedules/assignments.
Work with the Director of Food Service to ensure all students receive breakfast and lunch.
Schedule staff and students as necessary to accommodate summer service workers such as maintenance, mowing, and waxing crews.
Work with school personnel to identify and recruit students to the program.
Meet regularly with school‑level administration and county‑level supervisors regarding planning, implementation, and program evaluation.
Coordinate with district personnel and administrators in developing and implementing assessment strategies to identify student needs and develop corresponding program learning modules aligned with school improvement plan goals.
Implement technology and training appropriate to the age and ability of participating students.
Work collaboratively within the building and throughout the district to align and partner with existing programs and departments.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Compensation

LCBOE Schedule #17 Level XII – Professional; “Posted” Supplemental or Extra‑Curricular rate: $30.00 per hour.
LCBOE Schedule #16 Level X – Coordinator‑Professional Personnel; $30.00 per day in addition to the $30.00 per hour for Professional Extra‑Curricular pay.
