Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract Duration:
August 17, 2026 – June 7, 2027 (42 Weeks)
Hours:
35 hours per week
Job Summary
The Behavior Technician provides direct support to students by implementing behavior intervention plans, supporting skill development, and promoting a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with teachers, school staff, and behavioral support teams to assist students with behavioral and developmental needs.
Duties may vary based on student needs and can include behavior management, data collection, physical assistance, and academic support. The Behavior Technician works under the supervision of school staff and/or behavioral specialists.
Key Responsibilities
Implement behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans as directed
Provide direct 1:1 or small group support to students
Collect, record, and maintain accurate data on student behavior and progress
Support students throughout the school day, including classroom, transitions, and activities
Assist with behavior management and respond appropriately to behavioral challenges
Provide crisis intervention support when necessary
Reinforce positive behaviors and follow structured support plans
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and supervisors to ensure consistent care
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
Participate in training and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with children or adolescents, particularly in behavioral health, special education, or school settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented
Experience Requirements
Minimum of six (6) months experience working with children in a behavioral, educational, or support setting preferred
Credentials & Requirements
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification – required
CPR certification as required by the school
Completion of all required health screenings and clearances
Ability to pass:
FBI Fingerprinting
State and federal background checks
National Sex Offender Registry, OIG, and GSA screenings
Completion of district-specific onboarding requirements
Work Environment
School-based settings (elementary, middle, and/or high school)
May involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials
Active role requiring standing, walking, and assisting students throughout the day
Additional Information
Candidates may be assigned to a specific student (1:1) or float between classrooms
Role aligns with the academic calendar (no evenings or weekends)
