As the company continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced
Senior Estimator
to join their growing Pre-construction team in Portsmouth, NH. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to take ownership of meaningful projects while working in a collaborative, high-performing environment with hybrid flexibility.
Position Summary
The Senior Estimator will lead and manage the estimating process for multiple projects throughout all phases of pre-construction. This individual will prepare conceptual and detailed estimates, manage subcontractor outreach, analyze drawings/specifications, and partner closely with operations, project management, and ownership teams to help secure and successfully launch projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle estimating efforts on projects ranging from $5M–$70M
Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates
Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for scope completeness
Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis
Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor/vendor proposals
Develop value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations
Prepare bid packages, scopes, clarifications, and proposal submissions
Participate in client meetings, design coordination, and preconstruction presentations
Collaborate with project management teams during handoff and buyout
Maintain current market pricing, labor trends, and subcontractor relationships
Mentor junior estimators and support team development
Qualifications
7+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor or CM firm
Strong background in commercial construction estimating
Experience with healthcare, multifamily, industrial, or institutional projects preferred
Proven success estimating ground-up and renovation projects xywuqvp
Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously
Strong understanding of means and methods, construction sequencing, and pricing strategy
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
