Administrative Assistant II
The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.
The Agency is seeking to fill an Administrative Assistant II position which provides office support to the Medicaid litigation unit within the General Counsel's Office. This position will provide administrative support for the Medicaid litigation attorneys. Duties include but are not limited to preparing a variety of legal documents and reports; monitoring all assignments received by attorneys; set up, establish, organize, and maintain an efficient and complete filing system (electronic); prompt and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing mail and faxes; making travel arrangements and submitting reimbursements; scheduling meetings and other events as requested by supervisors; track all Medicaid final orders; assist with preparation of various reports as needed; prepare requests for system access; receive telephone calls and take messages as necessary; field routine calls from the public; assist other staff as needed; and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: knowledge of administrative principles and practices; knowledge of office procedures and practices; knowledge of methods of data collection; knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions; ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports; ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; ability to work independently; ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; ability to communicate effectively; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Minimum qualifications requirements: two years of administrative experience. Preference given to candidates with legal experience.
