Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 – $2,190 Position Type: Travel OT job — On-site, Hospital Rehab Unit (Inpatient Rehabilitation) Location: Palmdale, California (Zip: 93551) — California occupational therapy jobs / Palmdale OT jobs Assignment Duration: 12 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/2/2026) Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) Hours per Week: 40 Weekend Coverage: 1–2 weekends per month Setting: Hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation / acute rehab Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Occupational Therapy (OT) license in California (required) Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital, inpatient rehab, or skilled rehab setting Clinical skills including ADL training, therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment recommendations, splinting, and discharge planning Experience collaborating with physicians, nurses, COTAs, and rehabilitation teams in an interdisciplinary setting Strong clinical documentation skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) Excellent communication, organizational skills, and commitment to patient-centered rehabilitation best practices Responsibilities Evaluate patients' functional status and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans to improve independence in ADLs and IADLs Provide skilled therapeutic interventions, therapeutic activities, and adaptive strategies for patients with neurologic, orthopedic, and medical diagnoses Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, physical therapists, speech therapists, and case managers to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes Perform ongoing progress monitoring, update treatment plans, and document clinical notes in the EMR according to hospital standards Educate patients and families on treatment techniques, home programs, and safe return-to-home strategies; recommend adaptive equipment as needed Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning to support safe transitions of care Provide weekend coverage per schedule (1–2 weekends per month) Why join this travel OT assignment?
