Administrative Assistant for SCI Associate Deans

The School of Computing and Information (SCI) has been on a journey in librarianship, computer science, information science and intelligent systems for over 120 years. In its current form, SCI engages with education and research at the intersections of computing and information with the social, natural, and built worlds. Underpinning these disparate efforts is the goal of positively transforming lives of our students, fostering an equitable society, and advancing our disciplines for the common good. This position will assist and support the five (5) Associate Deans in SCI: Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Associate Dean for Research, Associate Dean of Community Engagement, and Associate Dean for Mentoring and Development by acting as the initial point of contact for all scheduling and coordination inquiries. Coordination of events and programs. The incumbent will help prioritize incoming issues and ensure that these issues are addressed in a timely manner. This assistant will be responsible for tracking, evaluating, and reporting on determined outcomes for each project. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Meticulous organizational skills and the ability to handle matters quickly and accurately are critical. The ability to problem solve and provide sound recommendations to the Associate Deans for action is essential in this position.
Job Summary: Supports senior level roles in a wide variety of complex administrative and office functions as well as specialized technical support for academic or administrative departments.
Essential Functions: This position was created to assist and support the five (5) Associate Deans in the School of Computing and Information - Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Associate Dean for Research, Associate Dean of Community Engagement, and Associate Dean for Mentoring and Development. Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks and manage data collection and reporting. Excellent written and oral communication skills and meticulous organizational skills and the ability to handle matters quickly and accurately are critical.
Physical Effort: Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able use a laptop and computer equipment.
