As a cybersecurity professional you’ll safeguard sensitive information and ensure a safe operating environment for military operations.
The Work
This Information System Security Officer (ISSO) position supports the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in developing, maintaining, and overseeing the cybersecurity of classified and/or unclassified F‑35 systems at Dannelly Field ANGB, AL.
Responsibilities
Implement and validate required cybersecurity controls, including continuous monitoring actions.
Develop and maintain cybersecurity plans and procedures.
Monitor for non‑compliance, anomalous activity, and report associated risks.
Ensure POA&Ms or remediation plans are in place for identified vulnerabilities, and oversee corrective actions.
Collect and retain data needed for reporting.
Correlate data from multiple sources (Splunk, ELA, ePO, ACAS, etc.) to identify and mitigate threats.
Investigate, analyze, and respond to cyber events and incidents, produce detailed reports, and brief stakeholders.
Enforce requirements for proper handling and storage of Government data and electronic media.
Conduct self‑inspections and prepare for customer inspections.
Interact professionally during enforcement of security policy and procedures.
Qualifications
Final Transferable Secret security clearance; last periodic reinvestigation within last 5 years or enrollment in Continuous Vetting program.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
Valid certification meeting or exceeding DoD 8570.01‑M IAT II requirements:
Meets: CCNA‑Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP
Exceeds: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Assc), GCED, GCIH, CCSP
Prior experience in a cyber workforce role, as categorized by the NICE or DoD workforce frameworks.
Desired Skills
Prior experience as an ISSO, ISSM, or related DoD Cyber Workforce Role on one or more F‑35 information systems.
Experience ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidance and policies (DoDI 8510.01, JSIG, DoDM 5205.07, NIST SP 800 series).
Experience with system authorization process and associated artifacts (SSP, SCTM, Security CONOPs, SOPs).
Security Clearance
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level: Secret with investigation or CV date within 5 years.
Location & Schedule
Location: Dannelly Field ANGB, AL. Position is full‑time onsite. Schedule: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week (Shift: First).
