Senior Manager, Accounting
The Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for various accounting, reporting and audit related activities. This includes month‑end close, consolidation, and serving as the primary contact for the external audit firm. The Senior Manager partners with key finance team members to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting on a monthly basis and with the global corporate office to ensure that financial reporting needs are satisfactorily met in a timely manner.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a leader in executing monthly close and Group reporting
Leads team in performing balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
Assesses the proper accounting for transactions in accordance with both IFRS & US GAAP
Builds strong working relationships with business partners
Ensures intercompany transactions are properly identified and reconciled with trading partners
Work directly with internal & external auditors to ensure successful & timely completion of audits
Ensure a strong internal control environment is maintained
Leads associates in setting business and development objectives and providing performance feedback
Participate in special project work such as strategic business initiatives & implementation of new systems
Manages the reconciliation of data between financial systems
Carries out various foreign currency related tasks through coordination with the Treasury group
Lead monthly close activities including review & approval of journal entries
Analyze project spend compared to plan & drivers of significant variances
Assist with implementation of financial systems & tools to manage accounting & reporting
Maintain an effective internal control environment as required by Sarbanes‑Oxley
Manage accuracy & completeness of reporting package submitted to corporate
Manage work of team, setting clear expectations, delegating tasks, and following up to ensure completion
Take initiative to solve problems/pursue business opportunities
Communicate both upward and downward to keep management and associates informed
Maintain working knowledge of business operations and activities; communicate impact of activities to appropriate associates and leadership
Maintain working knowledge of accounting standards and policies
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related experience
8‑10 years of experience in accounting
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate willingness & ability to be a self‑starter, taking the initiative to solve problems
Demonstrate the ability & desire to initiate & successfully accomplish personal & business goals
Ability to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusion
Ability to prioritize & multi task
Constructively challenge the process & take the initiative to search for opportunities to grow, improve & innovate
Effective time management, organizational & communication skills (both written & oral)
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management & customers
Ability to build strong business relationships in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or MBA
Public Accounting experience
Experience in SAP FI/CO, Hyperion HFM & Essbase
Ability to be assertive, creative, & results‑oriented
