About the Role
As a Defense Mission professional, you will apply strategic thinking to solve complex problems and support a Combatant Command client. Your responsibilities include writing, analyzing, coordinating, implementing, and assessing strategies and processes that advance mission objectives. You will support staff planning, coordinate with stakeholders, and facilitate senior‑leader participation in Joint Staff and Combatant Command strategy conferences and working groups.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to enhance client missions.

Develop and implement strategy plans, including talking points for senior leaders.

Coordinate with high‑level headquarters staff and stakeholders.

Facilitate senior‑leader participation in staff processes and situations.

Leverage decision‑support products to inform senior‑leader decisions.

Assist in preparing client‑ready written products and briefing materials.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience with military operations or strategy.

2+ years of experience supporting high‑level headquarters staff including component, TSOC, CCMD, Service HQ, or Joint Staff.

Experience developing talking points and briefing materials for General or Flag Officers.

Experience producing client‑ready products and written materials for the DoD.

Strong analytical skills, with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Self‑starter ability to work independently and in teams.

TS/SCI clearance.

HS diploma or GED.

Nice to Have

Experience at the headquarters level of a military command (Joint Staff, CCMD, or Service HQ).

Experience facilitating or planning events, conferences, or workshops.

Knowledge of formal DoD staffing and coordination processes.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Foreign Policy, Security Studies, European Affairs, or a related field.

Security Clearance
Applicants selected will be required to hold a TS/SCI clearance and may undergo a security investigation as part of the selection process.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $61,900.00 – $141,000.00 (annualized USD). In addition, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, disability, financial and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care.
