SAP Project Manager--Midwest Market Unit
The Senior Project Manager leads strategic SAP solution implementations across the Midwest Market Unit, managing cloud, on‑premise, or hybrid initiatives and ensuring alignment with SAP’s Activate methodology.
What You'll Do
Support customers' transformation strategy through management of large‑scale, high‑risk projects across multiple business units and vendor partners.
Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver project outputs on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Implement SAP’s Activate project management methodology, providing status communication and updates to customers and SAP management.
Assist during the Bid Phase by contributing to proposals on delivery models, scoping, estimation, and risk assessment.
Coordinate complex projects involving third‑party subcontractors, SAP Custom Development, Global Delivery, and support teams.
Ensure the delivery model, scope and estimates are correctly captured in the SOW.
Determine required resources, assess and communicate risk, and position SAP delivery methodology correctly with stakeholders.
Plan and execute large‑scale projects from Initiating to Closing, balancing time, cost, and scope.
Build and maintain project deliverables such as charters, integrated plans, status reports, timesheets, communication plans, budgets, and schedules.
Manage project governance, contract terms, scope, quality, and financial aspects, including budgeting and variance tracking.
Build customer relationships, identify follow‑on opportunities, and resolve complex issues with win‑win solutions.
Mentor and train project managers or teams in project management methodologies.
What You Bring
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with ability to work across disciplines.
Experience in consulting with an SAP services provider and understanding of SAP digital, cloud, and innovation solutions.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams under formal methodology and using SAP templates and methods.
Expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables and managing issues, scope, and quality.
Undergraduate degree in commerce, engineering, information technology, or equivalent; Master’s degree and MBA are assets.
Supervisory or coaching experience of 3–5 years in team building.
PMP certification and/or other project‑management certifications; Agile or SCRUM certification preferred.
Strong writing, mentoring, decision‑making, communication, and facilitation skills.
Ability to train and mentor managers; knowledge of strategic and operational issues of the project‑management business unit.
Knowledge of project‑management processes including planning, resource allocation, risk management, time management, financial management, HR management, quality management, monitoring, reporting, and record keeping.
Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
Requirements
7+ years’ experience managing large‑scale, high‑risk, or strategic projects with multiple end‑to‑end implementations.
3–5 years supervisory or coaching experience leading teams.
Current PMP certification; Agile or SCRUM certification highly preferred.
Compensation Range: The target annual combined range for this position is $107,300–$230,600 USD, inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target. Actual offers will vary based on education, skills, experience, scope, and location.
