Workplace Engagement and Legal Personnel Coordinator
in our Washington, DC office.Reporting to the Director of Workplace Engagement and the Director of Legal Personnel, this position will work closely with the Directors of Workplace Engagement and Legal Personnel to implement and advance the firm’s Workplace Engagement and inclusion goals and initiatives as well as various Legal Personnel projects.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the firm’s affinity groups, including assisting with affinity group events and programs.
Assist with the implementation of initiatives, programs, and events promoting attorney and employee engagement.
Assist with the implementation of initiatives to attract, retain, and promote an inclusive workforce for the firm, particularly in the areas of law school and lateral associate recruiting and mentoring.
Coordinate efforts to analyze and measure effectiveness of various workplace engagement and inclusion initiatives; aid in the response to RFPs and benchmarking surveys requested by clients and outside organizations; and assist with the collection and presentation of inclusion-related statistical information.
Assist in implementing internal programs that build community, encourage engagement, and foster inclusion, to include attorneys and staff, e.g., heritage month celebrations, speaker series, lunch and learns, book clubs, et al.
Assist in the preparation of Workplace Engagement Committee agendas and reports, draft and circulate summaries and minutes.
Update and maintain the firm’s Workplace Engagement Intranet page and Teams page, including the firm-wide calendar of Workplace Engagement events; draft articles for internal communication; and maintain other related materials.
Coordinate Workplace Engagement membership in and sponsorships of third-party organizations. Work with Marketing on necessary advertisements and events. Assist with coordination of participation in membership events and programs.
Assist with firm Lewis M. Rose Scholarship; manage scholarship applications; maintain scholarship brochure and related information on firm website and social media.
Assist with onboarding, program planning, and day-to-day supervision of Human Resources interns.
Collaborate with HR team on Workplace Engagement and inclusion initiatives; actively support Workplace Engagement programs in all offices.
Support the Legal Personnel teams on various assignments and on an as-needed basis.
Additional tasks as may be required from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of law firm or other professional services experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with web applications and databases highly desired.
Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once and adapt to shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to preserve confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.Ability to work independently and as a member of teams and be able to manage short-term and long-term deadlines.
Proactively communicates with internal and external clients to provide high quality support.
High attention to details and accuracy.
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in Washington D.C. if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology) for example. Washington D.C. Salary Range: Low: $62,000 High: $75,000.
