Director Database Administration

Western Michigan University is seeking a Director of Database Administration to provide leadership and technical expertise in managing our enterprise database environments. This role is responsible for ensuring database systems are secure, highly available, and optimized for performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of database administration experience, preferably with Oracle technologies, along with demonstrated leadership experience managing both teams and complex projects.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field from an accredited institution combined with relevant experience.
Five years’ relevant experience
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Project management experience.
Experience Developing programming or database standards.
Supervisor or lead experience.
Vendor management experience.
