Head of Planning & Performance Management
Zurich Cover-More is looking for a Head of Planning & Performance Management (PPM) who is responsible for driving and challenging the financial performance and operations for the Zurich Cover-More Business Unit. This role provides strategic consultation and insights to business unit leadership and partners to deliver analysis, reporting, planning and forecasting to support the development and execution of the financial strategy.
We are seeking a seasoned finance leader with a strong background in planning and performance management who will operate as a trusted strategic partner to help drive the success of Zurich Cover-More’s global business. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is open to remote‑based candidates within the United States, with regular travel to our Schaumburg, IL or New York, NY offices.
What you’ll be doing:
Support the ongoing development of Zurich Cover-More’s finance operating model, with a particular focus on Planning & Performance Management (PPM) processes and deliverables.
Lead and develop financial analysis, insights, planning, and forecasting across Zurich Cover-More Business Units, partnering closely with regional and central finance teams.
Develop and implement annual financial plans across the Zurich Cover-More Business Units in close collaboration with Zurich Global Business Operations and Group Finance.
Prepare and manage business and performance reviews from a finance perspective on behalf of the Zurich Cover-More Business Units.
Develop, evaluate, and review business opportunities and robust business cases.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting records and financial management reporting.
Partner closely with senior leadership across Zurich Cover-More, including Regional Business Heads, Functional Heads, and Finance Leads, and serve as a key liaison with ZNA’s Finance & Actuarial Shared Services unit.
Lead, mentor, and manage key team members within the PPM function.
What skills and experience you’ll bring on this journey:
10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced qualifications such as an MBA and/or CPA are highly valued.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning for complex, global business units.
Proven ability to design, own, and challenge sophisticated financial models that link strategy, budgets, and operational performance.
Strong track record delivering insightful performance analysis, risk assessment, and forward-looking forecasts to senior and executive leadership.
Solid understanding of financial governance, controls, and compliance within a globally regulated environment.
Experience translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and investment cases.
Proven people leadership experience, including building, developing, and performance-managing high-performing finance teams.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive and business unit levels in a fast-paced, global environment.

At Zurich Cover-More, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. In compliance with local laws, Zurich commits to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role. For more information about our Total Rewards, please click here. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education.
The salary range for this position is $152,400.00 – $249,500.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 25%.
