Temporary Seasonal Laborer
The City of Gladstone is now taking applications for temporary, seasonal laborers to work in Public Works. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Oregon driver's license and have the ability to meet the city's driving standards. Qualified applicants will be invited to an interview and must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer, pre-employment background check by the Gladstone Police Department. Applicants must be dependable, have good attendance, good communication skills, take direction well, be able to work well in a team environment, and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Duties include trash collection, mowing, paving, painting, softball/baseball field maintenance, general maintenance, and/or assisting full time staff with other projects as needed. Typical work week is a maximum of 40 hours per week but may include weekends in the summer to assist with trash collection and bathroom maintenance.
This is a great opportunity for students or teachers on summer break or anyone looking for temporary work. This position will require incumbents to work weekends on a rotational basis. This position can last up to 6 months, or 1040 hours, whichever comes first and interviews will be begin as early as March 30th with applicants starting as early as May if their schedule allows. Seasonal employment is typically defined at May-October.
