Public Safety Support Partner

From managing digital systems and organizing data to sharing critical safety information, your contributions will directly support the efficiency and effectiveness of Public Safety services.

Under general supervision, this position provides administrative and technical support to the Department management team. The role supports information systems, data workflows, digital communications, and technology enabled compliance functions to assist daily operations. Responsibilities include accurate data entry, basic reporting, maintenance of departmental document repositories, and timely dissemination of safety related information. The position assists with formatting and distributing materials, supporting departmental systems, coordinating routine information needs, and overseeing designated safety assets, including AEDs. Serving as a support function between department leadership, staff, and institutional systems, this role contributes to the efficient operation of Public Safety services.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Communicate departmental information to staff as directed by the Chief or designee.
Prepare and submit departmental meeting agendas and summaries for review.
Initiate requisitions and coordinate the purchase of supplies and equipment as requested.
Assist the department in administering the Records Management System (i.e Omnigo).
Format, publish, and distribute policies and procedures using the PowerDMS compliance platform.
Assist with basic data implementation, review, and analysis as requested.
Maintain and organize centralized electronic document repositories, including SharePoint and OneDrive.
Completes other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications, knowledge, and skill requirements include:
High School Diploma or the equivalent. Associate's degree from an accredited institution preferred or actively pursuing an Associate's degree
Related education or coursework may substitute for up to one (1) year of required experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in administrative support or clerical work, office technology, information system or digital tools, or technical support in an office or institutional environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications, including specific familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Canva, and Desktop Publisher;
Basic clerical skills to include typing, word processing, database entry, and filing;
Good organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle diverse situations and varying deadlines;
Format, publish, and distribute documents that meet institutional branding and accessibility standards;
Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated;
Ability to work with a diverse student population as well as administrators, faculty, and staff;
Ability to be detail oriented and to multitask;
Possess good judgment and flexibility within the position.
Physical demands include:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than twenty-five (25) pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
