Job Overview
With the guidance from the chief radiation oncology therapist and clinical guidance from the Radiation Oncologist, delivers accurately a planned course of Radiotherapy.
Qualifications
Graduate of an Accredited Radiation Oncology Technology Program
Possess a Valid NJ State License as a Radiation Technologist
Registered or registry eligible by the ARRT
Certifications and Licenses Required
Maintain required BLS
Scheduling Requirements
8:00—4:00
Days
Per Diem
Essential Functions
Checks beam directional devices for accuracy and timing devices for consistency. Checks output of a standard field size when necessary, checks ultrasound when necessary.
Checks treatment room to ensure high standard of technical performance and good patient care. Reports needed item to Chief Therapist.
Correctly identifies patient, checks treatment parameters, consent and accurately sets-up patient for treatment. Schedules patients for treatments.
Correctly identifies patients and positions them for Simulation. Performs tumor localization procedures and simple dosimetry procedures when required.
Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions.
Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate.
Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and procedures.
