Heavy Civil Construction Laborer

As a Heavy Civil Construction Laborer, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects. This position involves working closely with skilled tradespeople, assisting with equipment operation, maintaining job site safety and cleanliness, and ensuring projects stay on track. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and dedicated to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Site Support: Assist equipment operators and construction crews with various on-site tasks
Maintain a clean and organized work area by clearing debris and hazardous materials
Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment
Move materials to designated areas using appropriate methods and equipment
Equipment Operation: Operate small tools and equipment (e.g., jackhammers, compactors) under supervision
Support the safe and effective use of larger machinery alongside equipment operators
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and company policies
Immediately report safety hazards or incidents to a supervisor
Project Support: Assist the team in meeting construction deadlines and project milestones
Collaborate effectively with team members to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
General Maintenance: Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on tools and equipment
Notify supervisors of any malfunctioning or damaged equipment
Qualifications:
Previous experience in heavy civil construction or a related field preferred
Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and standard practices
Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in varying conditions
Strong awareness of safety procedures and a commitment to job site safety
Good communication and teamwork skills
Valid California driver's license
