1. Purpose of Role
The Service Electrician delivers professional electrical service, repair, and installation for residential and commercial customers. This role balances strong technical ability with exceptional customer service to ensure safe, reliable, and profitable field performance.
2. Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair electrical systems efficiently and accurately.
* Communicate findings and solutions to customers with professionalism.
* Prepare detailed estimates and invoices in Jobber.
* Maintain a fully stocked and clean service vehicle.
* Follow safety, NEC, and WSEC requirements on every job.
* Promote maintenance plans and system upgrades when appropriate.
* Collaborate with the Dispatch team to manage workload and routing.
* Document all work with photos, notes, and parts usage.
3. Reporting & Communication
* Reports to the Lead Service Technician or Service Manager.
* Communicates with Dispatch for updates, materials, and scheduling.
* Coordinates with customers for access, completion, and follow-up.
4. Authority & Decision Rights
* Authorized to complete field estimates and upsell within company guidelines.
* Approves small tool or material purchases up to authorized limits.
* Recommends system improvements and maintenance opportunities.
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Average ticket ≥ $900.
* First-time fix rate ≥ 95 %.
* Callback rate ≤ 2 %.
* Customer satisfaction ≥ 4.8 / 5.
6. Training & Advancement Path
* Maintain state electrical license and CEUs.
* Participate in Compliance U service and customer training modules.
* Next career progression: Lead Service Technician.
